During the year 1980, Pastors Darrell and Kathy Gooden, became the shepherds of a small congregation of about 20 people, then located at 150 West Atlanta Street in Tallapoosa, Georgia. God challenged this ministry team with a vision of restoration and expansion. Thus, plans were made to enlarge not only the physical size of the church facilities, but also their spiritual borders as well.
In Genesis 26:22, the Word says concerning Isaac, "And be removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it REHOBOTH; and he said, For now the Lord hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land."
Rehoboth has realized part of the vision, with a beautiful building, encompassing 14,000 square feet, located at 290 High Street in Tallapoosa. The indebtedness on this fine facility was completely liquidated through the faithfulness, sacrifice and liberality of the people during the year 1998. Already, there is a definite need for additional space.
Rehoboth has been a "Place of New Beginnings" for many people. Our greatest vision is to see souls saved, and to see the church filled beyond capacity with people that God has promised to bring in from the north, south, east and west. Our prayers are for God to speak to the hearts of the people who read this, then our vision will be fulfilled and a new one begun.
